The Apostle John also speaks to this in his first epistle, stating, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). This verse reassures us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us.
So, it’s not about being ‘good’ people. It’s about recognizing our sins, seeking God’s forgiveness, and accepting His grace. Heaven is not a reward for good deeds, but a gift of grace to forgiven sinners. This is a powerful reminder of God’s love and mercy, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
